Overview:

We are seeking a talented and collaborative Data Scientist to join our team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to clearly communicate insights to diverse audiences. The team has an expected start date for February.

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive decision-making. Success in this role requires not only analytical strength, but also humility, emotional intelligence, and the ability to collaborate effectively under tight deadlines and differing perspectives.

What You'll Do

Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business and strategic decisions
Develop and apply statistical models, analytical frameworks, and/or machine learning techniques
Translate technical findings into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Create visualizations, reports, and presentations that make data easy to understand and act upon
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
Manage competing priorities and deadlines with professionalism and adaptability
Apply strong emotional intelligence when navigating conflict, ambiguity, or differences of opinion
Maintain high standards for data quality, documentation, and analytical rigor

What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)

Strong technical acumen in data analysis, statistics, and/or machine learning
Proven ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly and effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated humility and a collaborative, team-first mindset
High emotional intelligence, with the ability to handle conflict and pressure constructively
Experience working in fast-paced or high-accountability environments

Background in consulting firms
Experience in military, academia, or federal environments
Prior contract roles with successful transition to full-time employment
Experience working with diverse stakeholders across organizational levels
