Overview:
The IT Deployment Technician will be responsible for the physical installation, configuration, and deployment of new IT equipment—including computers, monitors, speakers, cameras, label printers, and related peripherals—into a new City of Jacksonville facility. This position will also assist with the decommissioning and secure transfer of end-of-life equipment to the City’s designated surplus yard, ensuring all procedures follow city policies and data security standards. The selected candidate must be located in Jacksonville, FL. and able to move equipment up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Transport and install new IT hardware (desktops, monitors, peripherals) in a new city facility.
- Assist with setting up network connectivity, cable management, and workstation configuration.
- Perform initial testing of all installed equipment to confirm operational status.
- Inventory and document all deployed equipment using asset management tools.
- Safely remove and package end-of-life equipment for transport to the City surplus yard.
- Ensure data is securely wiped or stored prior to decommissioning old systems.
- Work closely with IT leads, facility managers, and vendors to maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
- Provide basic end-user support during the initial transition period.
- 2+ years of experience in IT hardware installation or support.
- Familiarity with desktop imaging, peripheral setup, and device troubleshooting.
- Valid driver's license; ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
