Overview:
The IT Migration and Systems Support Specialist will lead the coordination and execution of data and system migration from an existing facility to a new City of Jacksonville location. This role ensures all digital information, configurations, and user environments are properly transferred and operational in the new infrastructure. It also oversees the safe handling and transition of legacy systems marked for surplus. The selected candidate must be located in Jacksonville, FL. and able to move equipment up to 50 lbs. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute full system and data migration to the new facility.
  • Coordinate with city departments to ensure minimal disruption to services.
  • Backup, transfer, and validate all data on user workstations and servers.
  • Configure and re-establish system access, network settings, and security protocols in the new environment.
  • Document system changes and update inventory and asset tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with IT Deployment Technicians for seamless handoff and installation.
  • Troubleshoot post-migration issues and provide Tier 2 support to users.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in IT system migration, desktop support, or system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, network configuration, and data backup practices.
  • Experience using migration tools and imaging software.
  • Ability to communicate technical processes clearly to non-technical staff.
  • Project coordination skills and ability to prioritize tasks under deadlines
