Applications Architect (Oracle & Financial Systems)
Overview:
WiredPeople is seeking an experienced Applications Architect with a deep understanding of Oracle-based financial applications. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining critical financial systems. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects, including the integration with major state financial systems like Florida PALM and FLAIR, while ensuring the applications meet the highest standards of security and compliance. Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated Oracle-based financial applications using Oracle Forms, APEX, and PL/SQL.
- Play a key role in the integration of our applications with enterprise financial systems such as Florida PALM and FLAIR.
- Develop and maintain robust data integration processes, including PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database packages to support application functionality and reporting.
- Utilize Oracle Fusion Middleware (e.g., WebLogic Server, Oracle HTTP Server) for secure and scalable application deployment and integration.
- Ensure all applications are in technical alignment with the State of Florida's accounting practices and meet stringent Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance standards.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Perform Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) operations to ensure accurate data flow between internal and external systems.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members and other FDACS staff.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- 8+ years of experience in application development using Oracle Forms, Oracle APEX, and PL/SQL.
- Proven experience with Oracle Database development, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Oracle Fusion Middleware components (e.g., WebLogic Server, Oracle HTTP Server).
- Experience integrating applications with enterprise financial systems like Florida PALM and FLAIR.
- Knowledge of State of Florida accounting practices from a technical implementation perspective.
- Demonstrated experience in ensuring PCI compliance within application development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with applications such as the Administrative Image Management System (AIMS), Financial Inquiry System (FIS), and Revenue Online Collection (ROC).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate, Oracle APEX Developer, Oracle Middleware certifications) are a plus.
