IT Help Desk and Telecom Support Technician
Overview:
The IT Help Desk and Telecom Support Technician will provide first-line support for end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, with additional expertise in telecommunications systems, including VoIP and PBX setups. This role involves resolving technical problems efficiently, maintaining communication infrastructure, and assisting with telecom equipment installation and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have previous IT Help Desk experience, some Telecoms background, and be adaptable to a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. The ideal candidate must reside in Tallahassee, FL, and be available to work onsite. Additionally, this position requires extensive travel between Tallahassee and Miami.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets related to hardware, software, and telecom systems.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecom equipment such as phones, VoIP systems, and related peripherals.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to end-users, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with network and telecom vendors to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity or hardware issues.
- Document support activities, asset management, and telecom configurations accurately. Support the rollout of new telecom systems and upgrades and assist in user training where necessary.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and data security standards during all support activities.
- Provide prompt support by traveling between Tallahassee and Miami as required.
- At least 2 years of experience in IT Help Desk support, with proven ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Telecoms experience, including familiarity with VoIP, PBX, and related telecommunication technologies, is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests efficiently.
- Basic understanding of networking principles and hardware installation.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Telecom-specific certifications are a plus.
