Overview:

WiredPeople is seeking a Travel Coordinator to join our public health team. This role is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, and will be based onsite Oahu, Hawaii.

The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and provide documentation in facilitating and coordinating travel logistics (locally and nationally) for HMMRC members and advocates attending meetings and conferences.
  • Shall manage and provide payment for invoices and travel logistics for up to 5 (five) persons related to 1 (one) out-of-state conference (e.g., MMRIA User Meeting-MUM) as directed and designated by the MCHB Program staff.
  • The coordinator shall also have knowledge working with diverse populations and experience in coordinating state travel (local and national) logistics, developing partnerships, and working collaboratively with women and families promoting community-based efforts and resources to encourage an understanding, appreciation, and knowledge of maternal health initiatives improving positive outcomes for women and families.
  • The coordinator shall prepare a summary of activities completed at the end of the project period.
  • Provide a short monthly report to the MCHB on challenges and successes in completing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Identify, develop, and implement an evaluation tool in collaboration with designated MCHB Program staff to capture feedback from MMR meetings attendees.

Qualifications:

  • Have perinatal medical records abstraction experience and Maternal Mortality Review Information Application/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (MMRIA/CDC) training.
  • Have at least 7 years of experience in Maternal Child Health programs and provide 1 letter of support.
  • Have experience in attending and participating in maternal, child, or other fatality reviews as a member of the committee.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the aspects of various cultural groups living in Hawaii as it relates to mothers, children, and families.
  • Have access to transportation, electronic and technological equipment; cellphone, computer/laptop, printer, scanner for managing, arranging, and coordinating activities, inventory and tracking methods and space to store products.
