IT Security Analyst

Overview:

The IT Security Analyst is responsible for implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data. Successful candidates are expected to stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers’ methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Prevent data loss and service interruptions by researching new technologies that will effectively protect the network. 
  • Ensure all networks have adequate security to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Ensure that all security systems are current with any software or hardware changes in the company.
  • Plan and document all security information in the company including physical and internet security. 
  • Perform procedures and processes necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess at least five (5) years of experience in all of the following areas:

  • Information security. 
  • Creating, testing, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans.   
  • Performing risk assessments and testing of data processing systems.   
  • Installing firewalls, data encryption, and other security measures.   
  • Recommending security enhancements and purchases.   
  • Training staff on network and information security procedures. 
  • Developing reports about the efficiency of security policies and recommending changes.
  • Organizing and conducting training for all employees regarding company security and information safeguarding.

Certifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with some or all of the following certifications:

  • Security+
  • CISSP
  • CEH
  • Cloud+
