Sales and Marketing Specialist

WiredPeople seeks qualified applicants for an open Sales and Marketing Specialist position located in Bethesda, Maryland.  The opportunity for remote employment is dependent on qualifications.

Overview:

Qualified candidates should be driven, versatile sales professionals, with enterprise sales skills in the network security and/or configuration compliance market. Candidates with a technical sales background/STEM are preferred. A proven track record of success is mandatory, as is customer commitment and employment stability.

The Sales and Marketing Specialist will have a specific focus in the identification, development, and closing of sales opportunities, both with new and existing client bases.  The ideal candidate exhibits high energy, self-motivation, and a drive to continually build sales relationships in target markets.  The ideal candidate should also possess the ability to sell horizontally to multiple markets but also develop a sales approach to vertical markets, including identification of user groups and appropriate trade shows.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales activities to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Dynamically aware of market and competitive factors to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings and shows to promote product.
  • Delivers sales presentations in person or by WebEx, GoToMeeting, etc. to key clients in coordination with sales engineers if required.
  • Meets with and maintains relationships with key clients, including upselling on a value basis. The upselling would also include the services of the company.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition and completes a brief review of key factors in every win or loss.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven track record consistently exceeding quota.
  • Must be tenacious and success-oriented, a self-starter with high energy.
  • 2 years' experience developing and maintaining business relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Experience with and the ability to demonstrate consultative solutions selling.
  • Strong business, communications, and information technology knowledge.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply technical knowledge relating to company and competitor's offerings.
  • Ability to travel at least 50%.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, fast-growth environment where action and initiative are prerequisites to performing well.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or any STEM area.
  • Experience using Salesforce and other sales tools like WebEx and GoToMeeting.
  • Ability to write blog material if appropriate for case studies.
